MENTOR, OH – Alloy Precision Technologies was proud to host a stop on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Free Enterprise Express Opportunity Tour, welcoming U.S. Senator Jon Husted and Tom Sullivan, Vice President of Small Business Policy at the U.S. Chamber, to our facility for a tour and a conversation about the future of American manufacturing.

The Free Enterprise Express is a six-week national bus tour traveling through 20 states with more than 50 events, visiting the businesses and communities that make up the backbone of the U.S. economy. We were honored that the route came through Lake County and that our team had the chance to show what advanced manufacturing looks like in Northeast Ohio.

A Look Inside the Facility

Michael Canty, President and CEO of Alloy Precision Technologies and a member of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Small Business Council, led Senator Husted and Mr. Sullivan through our production floor, where they saw firsthand the work that goes into the components we build every day: bellows assemblies, thin-wall tubing, hermetic weldments, and superalloy components for power generation, petrochemical, and aerospace & defense customers.

They admired the processes and production methods that allow Alloy to manufacture products in Mentor, Ohio, that are sold throughout the world.

The Conversation: Technology, People, and Growth

The discussion during the visit centered on a theme that resonates with every manufacturer we know: investment in technology and innovation is what allows small and mid-sized companies to increase productivity, grow their workforces, and compete globally.

That is our story, too. Over the past several years, Alloy Precision Technologies has invested in equipment, process capability, and credentials such as Nadcap accreditation, AS9100 certification, and CMMC. Those investments have helped us grow our workforce, take on more demanding work, and keep that work in Ohio. It is also why Alloy has been a “Best of Tech” finalist in each of the past several years.

“Visits like this are a chance to show what a small manufacturer actually does and what it takes to compete at this level,” said Canty. “Every part on our floor represents an investment in equipment, in process, and most of all in people. We appreciated the opportunity to share our story and to make sure the perspective of shops like ours is part of the national conversation.”

Why Visits Like This Matter

Small manufacturers rarely make headlines. Most of us are tucked into industrial parks, building parts that customers depend on, but the public never sees. Events like the Free Enterprise Express shine a light on that work and remind decision-makers that the health of American industry depends on thousands of shops like ours.

On behalf of the entire company, Canty extended thanks to Senator Husted, Mr. Sullivan, and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce team for choosing Alloy Precision Technologies as a stop on the tour, and to our employees who represented the company so well.

Thank You to Our Team

None of this happens without the people who show up every day and hold our work to the standard our customers require. To every welder, machinist, inspector, engineer, and support team member at Alloy Precision Technologies: this visit was a recognition of you.

We look forward to continuing to grow, invest, and build here in Mentor.
